A SERVICE TAILORED TO YOUR OIL BOILER
I don’t believe in rushed, one-size-fits-all servicing. Every oil boiler is different, so I follow the manufacturer’s instructions, taking account of the burner’s condition, age and service history.
By checking combustion performance, burner operation and signs of wear, I aim to identify developing problems early, maintain safe operation and reduce the risk of avoidable breakdowns.
If I discover an issue requiring further investigation or repair, I’ll explain the findings, discuss the available options and agree any additional costs with you beforehand.
HOW I SERVICE YOUR OIL BOILER
The exact work varies by boiler model and manufacturer, but may include:
- Burner, combustion chamber, heat exchanger and baffle cleaning
- Oil nozzle inspection and replacement where specified
- Oil filter, fuel lines and burner component inspection
- Oil pump pressure testing and adjustment to manufacturer specifications where required
- Bacharach smoke testing using a Testo smoke pump
- Digital combustion analysis using an Anton analyser
- Burner operation and safety control testing
- Final performance checks and explanation of findings
PRECISION COMBUSTION TESTING & PERFORMANCE
Cleaning an oil boiler is only part of the job. Correct combustion settings are essential for safe, efficient operation, which is why I use professional testing equipment to measure actual burner performance.
Using a Testo smoke pump, I check for soot in the flue gases before carrying out digital combustion analysis with my Anton analyser. I assess oxygen, carbon monoxide, calculated CO₂ and combustion efficiency against the manufacturer’s specifications.
Where necessary, I adjust the burner settings and verify the final readings. This helps identify poor combustion, excessive soot production and potential efficiency problems that cleaning alone may not resolve.
