When you book a boiler service, you deal directly with me from booking through to completion. I personally carry out the gas engineering work and make the technical decisions. If a job needs another trade, I also work with a small group of trusted local tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers and handymen, who I know and use regularly. I’ll always explain this to you beforehand.
If I’m unable to answer the phone, my AI receptionist may take your details so I can follow up personally — there’s no outsourced call centre or sales team.
I also offer evening and out-of-hours visits by arrangement, including urgent boiler call-outs, and same-day attendance may be possible depending on availability.
My aim is to become your personal boiler engineer — someone who knows your boiler and remembers its history. I keep digital service records and annual reminders for returning customers, and I always do my best to look after loyal, established customers when problems arise.
Every boiler is serviced thoroughly in line with the manufacturer’s instructions, with its safety, condition and performance properly checked. I’ll explain any findings clearly, and nothing additional is carried out without discussing it with you first.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN A PROPER BOILER SERVICE
The exact work varies by boiler model and manufacturer, but may include:
- Inspection of the boiler, flue and ventilation
- Checks for leaks, corrosion and signs of damage
- Gas rate, operating and combustion checks
- Testing of safety controls and devices
- Internal inspection and cleaning, with service seals or gaskets replaced where required
- System pressure and operational checks, followed by a clear explanation of any findings
A SERVICE TAILORED TO YOUR BOILER
I don’t use a rushed, one-size-fits-all checklist. Every boiler is different, so I follow the relevant manufacturer’s servicing instructions and take account of the boiler’s age, condition and service history.
My aim is to identify developing problems early, keep your boiler operating safely and help reduce the chance of avoidable breakdowns.
If I find a fault that needs further investigation, I’ll explain it clearly and advise whether further boiler repair or fault diagnosis is required.
A FULL BOILER SERVICE – NOT JUST A SAFETY CHECK
A visual inspection and combustion reading may confirm that a boiler is operating safely at that moment, but they are not the same as a thorough boiler service.
I service each boiler in line with the manufacturer’s instructions. Depending on its model and condition, this may involve internal inspection, cleaning the burner and primary heat exchanger, replacing disturbed seals or gaskets, and checking its combustion, controls and overall operation.
The work therefore varies between boilers. The aim is to properly inspect and maintain your appliance so it continues operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

This fine hairline crack was discovered during inspection of the boiler sump. It’s the sort of defect that can be missed without proper dismantling and close inspection, and it meant the sump had to be replaced.
